JOB OVERVIEW
Supports the Food and Beverage Service team by performing support duties including mise en place of food preparation, set up of functions, set up of food and beverage equipment and assisting with the preparation of service.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • General “Mise en Place” of the restaurant and Banquet functions
  • Assist with receiving and storage of goods
  • Assist with the preparation of functions and service
  • Assist with cellar operations
  • Ensure set-up is done according to organizers’ requirements while working in Banqueting part
  • Responsible for the Bar and cocktails making while working at the Bar
  • Responsible for Cleaning and maintaining hygienic standards and procedures
  • Cleaning and maintain flatware for service
  • Maintain clean working premises
  • Cleaning and maintain cutlery/china for service
  • Preparing waiter stations
  • Preparing buffet service
  • Preparing service equipment and materials
  • Assisting with table preparation
  • Demonstrate service attributes including:
  • Accurately and promptly fulfilling Guests requests
  • Being attentive and anticipate Guests needs
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge of menu which affects the Guest experience
  • Demonstrating a ‘service’ attitude
  • Daily update of any specials on the menu
  • Attends and participates in daily briefings and other meetings as scheduled
  • Assist in all financial transactions upon responsibilities: opening/closing check, and maintains cashier float to ensures accurate cashier closing at the end of the shift.

  • Attends to guest’s complaints, inquiries and requests, and repots problems to supervisor/Assistant Manager if he/she unable to assist

HEALTH, SAFETY AND SECURITY

  • Demonstrate understanding and awareness of all policies and procedures relating to Health, Hygiene and Fire Life Safety
  • Familiarize yourself with emergency and evacuation procedures
  • Ensure all security incidents, accidents and near misses are always logged in a timely manner and brought to the attention of the Line Manager
  • Perform tasks as directed by the Manager in pursuit of the achievement of business goals

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Several years’ experience in the kitchen in a Hotel is required
  • Must speak at least one of the following languages: French, English or Dutch
  • Professional education related to hospitality sector and services
